WITD 301.10 Cathartic Whipping72 viewsCathartic whipping scenes require extensive negotiation. They are optimally achieved when a true Sadist and true Masochist play together in an agreed to scene. A spotter or referee is recommended as often the masochist looses their voice in catharsis and the Top may even be non-verbal when in deep Top space. Heavy marking is common and blood may be part of the negotiations but is not required to achieve catharsis. After the buildup, processing time is reduced to almost zero and the breath is taken out of the scene. Dark energy exchange is involved and often the scene results in an out of body experience, sometimes almost a religious experience, and may or may not involve a healing aspect (although most of us are not psychologists, realize this is a possible aspect of this type of scene). There of course should be an agreed upon safeword, and an exit plan discussed between Top, bottom and spotter. The spotter should have the agreed upon authority to stop the scene. Read Chapter 17 in my book, Whips in the Dungeon as Master Malik of Tulsa, and slave linda of Atlanta share their thoughts after a cathartic whipping scene. While cathartic whipping is not my, Dex's passion, it is an important part of any advanced bullwhip discussion.

Slave Positions 101.01 Introduction to Slave Positions71 viewsVideo introduces slave positions for House Mermaid. There is no Bible on slave positions, nothing written in the tablets of stone, but comparing several different Internet resources on slave positions you will find commonalities and some classic poses and positions. The following playlist illustrates what was used at House Mermaid. Feel free to use these or adapt them to what pleases the Master or Mistress in your leather house or community structure. A future playlist will look at ways to modify the classic positions to accommodate a variety of handicaps, mobility and age limitations.

Caning 101.15 Strike and Hold70 viewsStrike and Hold can be done with a partial stroke or a full stroke. A well tuned cane will make a tone with this stroke. Different canes make different tones. Visualize delivering all of the energy of the cane in the stroke and holding it until all of the energy (vibration) has dissipated into the strike area. Watch this video to see how it is done and the reaction of Moodstone's lovely bottom.

WITD 101.44 Edge Play and Drinking68 viewsBullwhip play and any type of singletail play is edge play. Whip tops and whip bottoms should not drink or do drugs before scening with whips. Drinking and standing 4-7' away from a whip catcher and accurately playing with the last 1" of cracker fluff while the whip is moving at the speed of sound is not possible. Stay in the moment, use endorphins and Top space as your natural high. Guest video appearance by Theadora.

WITD 101.43 Dungeon Etiquette66 viewsDungeon etiquette discusses protocols for setting up a whip scene in the dungeon. DMs and Tops in the vicinity of play must be notified, safety zones and whip lane or whip circle considered. Dungeon attendees should be considerate and use 6" voices if they have to talk. Whip play is edge play, a whip thrower in Top space is focusing on a singletail moving at 767 mph when it cracks. Distractions can result in unsafe play. A rule of thumb: if social voices can be heard above the music, then the dungeon music is not loud enough. Socializing is for the social area not the Sacred Space.

WITD 301.01 Wraps65 viewsWraps can be done on almost any appendage. Wraps with short and long whips are demonstrated. Soft wraps are distinguished from loud wraps. Using a soft wrap to judge distance and find the whip line that will allow your loud wrap to find its intended target without hitting a bad spot (like a tailbone, breastbone, etc). Safety discussion. Many folks wrap without considering where exactly the tip of the whip will end up after the wrap. @WoodshedOrlando for providing a wonderful venue for this video.
