WITD 601.01 Introduction to Sound Healing5 viewsThis begins a new journey with many multiple goals. The most simplest is breaking in a new whip from Smokey Mountain Whips. The next is exploring different types of gongs, sounds, sound energy and different methods of producing sound using a gong. Different frequencies of sound energy can be used to open up different chakras inducing healing. Gongs have been used for relaxation, meditation, healing, making music and for cleansing emotions. Two long term goals will be to learn to play and orchestrate a gong bath using a variety of mallets and incorporating a whip in this experience, an extended leather lifestyle goal is to incorporate sound energy and a gong into scenes and whip play enhancing the ambience of energy in the dungeon during live play as well as interacting with sound directly with the whip bottom during a scene. While mallets hard, soft and friction will be used also explored is using the fluff of the whip cracker moving close to the speed of sound as a way to strike the gong and generate sound. Sound energy can be generated rhythmically or a-rhythmically. This journey begins with introducing a 4" brass Chinese gong, the Tzong mini-gong. Watch as I play this gong with a whip.

Leathers 101.03 Boots Different Leathers4 viewsThe collection presented are mostly Nocona cowboy boots with a no. 3 toe and walking heel. The snow boots are oil tanned and the black ostrich boots that are D width are both Justins. The collection represents 16 years of my leather journey. Each year I would save up enough to buy 1 pair. Bull hide, cow hide, elk, elephant, ostrich, stingray, rattlesnake, python and alligator are represented. My favorite boots are the oil tanned cowhide black boots. Many leather enthusiasts collect different styles and types of leather boots. My collection represents the same style but explores many of the different leathers and hide possibilities.

Leathers 101.12 Intro to Collars4 viewsA collar is a symbol of ownership in the leather lifestyle. In more recent times collars are worn as a fashion statement and are choker like. Fashion trends in the Goth and Steampunk style have made collars common place. In the leather lifestyle often they are worn in the dungeon in play settings because a collar at its simplest level is a type of restraint and can be used in bondage and restraint settings to restrain the neck. A collar can also be used for leash play. Protocols surrounding collars abound. There are different designs for collars and fasteners. My favorite is the locking roller buckle although a locking post is nice too. Future videos in this series will cover different aspects of collars.

Leathers 101.14 Progression of Collars_ Blue, Red, Black4 viewsBeginning with a submissive or slave petitioning for a Collar of Consideration (blue), a trial period begins a leather relationship. A Training Collar (red) marks a year period of focused intense training in the way a particular Sir or Ma'am wants to be served. An Ownership Collar (black) signifies a long term relationship with a cherished submissive. Regardless of the particular tradition you follow, collars play an important part and are a symbol of a bond between a Master/Mistress and submissive/slave.

Leathers 101.15 Public Collars or Day Collars4 viewsThere are no hard and fast rules with a public collar, sometimes called a day collar. It could be that Madame Dragonfly wants all of her submissives to wear a dragonfly necklace when out in public to symbolize their ownership by her. It could be a subtle symbol of ownership, like an antique padlock jewelry necklace on a chain; it could be made of leather but very fashionable and stylish; it could be a symbol in itself that represents a relationship like a ying/yang necklace. The main objective is that the day collar can be worn to work, or in the day and not call undue attention to itself or be objectionable by broader societal norms. Many people have careers and work settings that would not allow them to wear a more traditional black ownership collar. Some people are lucky enough to be self-employed, working remotely, retired, on disability or simply do not care what others think. But for a large number of leather lifestylers maintaining a day job and career is a survival necessity that lends itself to the discrete usefulness of a public or day collar. The wearing of a collar of some type 24/7 provides a constant connection and reminder of a relationship between a Dominant and submissive or slave.

Leather Houses 101.05 Positions within a Leather House4 viewsWhat positions exist within a leather house? They vary but often the head of a house will be the Head Master or Head Mistress or Head of the Household, a lady or sir of the house, butler, maid, house cook, bladesmith, armorer, majordomo or master at arms, dungeon master, wax attendant, the list is long and varied and depends upon valued functions within each house. Positions often are appointed, but house members can also petition for a position. I personally prefer petitions.
