WITD 601.10 Gongs to Accompany Dungeon Music76 viewsUsing gongs to add energy and to musically accompany dungeon music seems a little bit out of the box. But then creativity is a cornerstone of leather. This would require a dungeon with enough space to accommodate live playing of the gongs otherwise, pre-recording before the dungeon event would be an alternative approach.Dec 14, 2023

WITD 601.08 Building an Inexpensive Gong Stand19 viewsOne essential element of being able to play a gong whether as a musical accompaniment, as a stand a lone instrument for energy exchange, or as a healing gong bath is to have an adequate stand to hold a gong so it can be played. Commercially manufactured gong stands are actually quite pricey. Watch to see how Dex repurposes lesser expensive stands to create a gong stand.Dec 12, 2023

WITD 601.01 Introduction to Sound Healing9 viewsThis begins a new journey with many multiple goals. The most simplest is breaking in a new whip from Smokey Mountain Whips. The next is exploring different types of gongs, sounds, sound energy and different methods of producing sound using a gong. Different frequencies of sound energy can be used to open up different chakras inducing healing. Gongs have been used for relaxation, meditation, healing, making music and for cleansing emotions. Two long term goals will be to learn to play and orchestrate a gong bath using a variety of mallets and incorporating a whip in this experience, an extended leather lifestyle goal is to incorporate sound energy and a gong into scenes and whip play enhancing the ambience of energy in the dungeon during live play as well as interacting with sound directly with the whip bottom during a scene. While mallets hard, soft and friction will be used also explored is using the fluff of the whip cracker moving close to the speed of sound as a way to strike the gong and generate sound. Sound energy can be generated rhythmically or a-rhythmically. This journey begins with introducing a 4" brass Chinese gong, the Tzong mini-gong. Watch as I play this gong with a whip.Nov 23, 2023
