WITD 501.12 Two Handed Whip Lane11 viewsWatch yourself in a mirror and see how wide and long your whip lane is throwing single handed. Ideally you should be able to throw two handed whips and maintain the same lane as when throwing a single whip. So with good technique, a whip lane is a whip lane regardless of whether throwing 1 whip or 2 whips.

WITD 501.20 Dynamically Grounding the Whip Throwing Two Handed10 viewsWhen throwing whips longer than 6', the whip is grounded either straight out in front of the thrower or straight out behind the thrower. However, how does one ground a short whip that is too short to reach the floor? This segment revisits dynamically grounding a short whip and demonstrates how to ground the whip when throwing two handed. It also revisits together timing, staggered timing and distributed timing and shows how simply grounding the whip achieves distributed timing.

WITD 501.11 Practice with a Tripod and Phone9 viewsUsing a phone to video two handed or even single handed whip practice will allow the whip thrower to see the whip the entire length of its travel. Asynchronous feedback provides visual learning opportunities that will aid in correcting and improving technique. The video can be watched multiple times focusing on different aspects of the throwing sequence. This is a different perspective than synchronous feedback which will be looked at in a separate video.

WITD 501.32 Making a Matched Set of Crackers for a Matched Set of Whips8 viewsNot as important when doing basic cracking or sport cracking, but in contact dungeon play having the matched set of whips plaited the exact length defeats the purpose of finesse contact play if your crackers are mismatched in length. WITD 501.31 Breaking in Matched Sets of Dungeon Whips5 viewsDex guides through the thought process of breaking in a matched set of dungeon whips as opposed to a single dungeon whip. Contrasting with breaking a whip in taking a basic cracking or sport cracking approach. In a nutshell, break the whips in by throwing them using all of the same techniques you would use throwing in the dungeon. Do not use basic cracking or sport cracking techniques, or even the static bow & arrow dungeon technique. Bow & arrow cannot be thrown with two handed whip technique, only the static over the shoulder technique can be used. Teach the new whips to behave using your throwing technique and break them in using the techniques and throwing style you use in the dungeon.
