Book Reviews 101.02 Screw the Roses14 viewsScrew the Roses, Send Me The Thorns: The Romance and Sexual Sorcery of Sadomasochism by Miller & Devon (1995) was the first book I purchased when I entered the lifestyle 24 years ago. 24 years later, I still say it is a must read as one of your first books when you become interested in BDSM. At that time the book was highly recommended reading for anyone interested in leather and was only 4 years old. Written from a male Dom, female sub perspective in modern scene vernacular the pronouns are a mild issue. But the content rings true and valuable as it has become a leather library classic, a BDSM 101 that everyone in the scene should have in their library if for nothing else as a reference. The glossary in the back sort of sets the stage for the book in that the body of the book pretty much covers in a humorous annotated way every term in the glossary. For newbie's who do not know any "scene speak" this book will quickly catch them up on most of the common terms used in the lifestyle. Book Reviews 101.04 Adam & Eve Customers Tell All 19856 viewsAdam & Eve an adult novelty and vibrator store in the mid-80's was a catalog order business. They would include a freebie with every order. Today they are still around but online and they have a few brick and mortar stores in the Carolinas. They invited customers to submit erotic short stories and erotic fantasy episodes in a customer contest. The editor selected the best stories and published them anonymously and the resulting book was included as one of their freebies for ordering customers. Today this represents vintage erotic stories, some of them are quite hot depending upon what your fantasy and kink is. Some are snoozers.
