Obviously a whitetail deer has a white tail and a mule deer found in the western part of the US has ears shaped like a mule, but once the hides are processed and tanned is there any noticeable difference? Mule might be the slightest thickness heavier but it is microscopic in difference. A bottom being flogged on the back or butt will not be able to tell the difference in whitetail or mule deerskin.
